Informal is Nifty

Okay, if...

Social is to Internet, as
Democracy was to Nations.

then...

Informal is to Social, as
Liquor is to Parties.

(Ouch. Okay, read on.)

Was just drinking the "Social" cool aid over at Dion Hinchcliffe's blog.
Met Dion at Web 2.0 & was struck (in that moment) by a main-streamness to his "boot camp." (I had starred it as a top priority for the conference, but after a 20-min chat over lunch, opted to attend something else instead.) Drinking deeply at his blog, though, i am reminded of just how much i admire his thoughts.

So then i re-installed my Me.dium browser sidebar (after recently blasting my laptop). During the sign-up, it asked for my high school, promting me "Your place of secondary education." Then came college. (see screen grab)

More and more, i applaud the entrepreneurs and teams who adopt the informal. It would be different if this were my heart monitor, but with Me.dium, the whole point is to socialize.

Ah, there it is again: the social trend. Add to that "informalicious."
